The Math Images Project is a collaboration between Swarthmore College, the Math Forum at Drexel University, and the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). The purpose of this project is twofold: (1) to capture the interest of the general public through use of intriguing and attractive mathematical images; (2) through the process of constructing the site, to bring new learning possibilities to undergraduates and others who will develop the material on the wiki pages.

In particular, we are following the Wikipedia lead and using the Mediawiki software that powers Wikipedia since they have developed very good collaboration technology and software that makes contributing simple. We also admire their mathematics material and so will look for serendipitous ways of interacting.
