Chris Taranta teaches mathematics to middle and high school students at Masterman, an academic magnet public middle and high school in Philadelphia. He has also taught science and environmental education as well as founded and directed a middle school a cappella group at his previous school. He has taught students from kindergarten through graduate school in his career. Math Images is right up his alley because he loves working with connections between mathematics and everyday experience, such as the leaf pattern the server created out of foamed milk on top of his chai on the morning he wrote this blurb. (It turns out there is a whole field of latte art; check it out on Google.) Chris uses computer graphics extensively in his teaching and is presently working to help translate the many great ideas in Math Images into effective teaching materials for middle and high school students.
